Site inspection basics: The followings are to be checked
All points as above shall be mentioned in the contract and authority of the inspector shall be indicated in the contract to ensure compliance.
During the inspection I think we need to check if all the HSE requirements are done and implemented in the work place or not.
Besides the training effeciency, we check if the staff understand what they have learned during the safety meeting and the daily TBT.
We need also to listen to and understand the workers' opinion in each work place to know if the communication between managers and the operators and other workers is good or not.
After that we can have an idea about how the process is working.
Most important thing to be inspected in Site inspection is scope(type of service and area) of inspection with respect to Approved shop drawing, Approved method statement ,Approved checklist , Approved material, Approved HSE risk assessment and as per project specification & relevant international standard.
In addition to this the importance/level of inspection increases as per type of inspection for eg.. Installation inspection or Testing inspection.
Check that approved shop drawing is used for installation and in Inspection Request.
Check that approved Materials are used in Installation works.
Check that Installation works have been done as per approved shop drawing, Method Statement and Checklist.
Check that Installation does not violate any Project Specification.
My point of view the safety is the first to check, because it is directly proportional of the quality of work.
First thing to do, Wear your PPE's during inspection. Quality of the work is a must, Inspect every aspects of the works under your responsiblity. Three things i always considered: 1). Quality, 2). Economical' 3). Safety.
Check all necessary means by putting your company/employer into high standard of good performance, to avoid Client's dissatifaction.
1- The safty precautions in site for works, workers and material storage.
2- The matching between which exexuted at site and the approved shop drawings.
3- Following of the project specs and the client/consultant instructions.
Checking of Site Safety, Implemented drawings and related comments.
Wether works included in the inspection request have met approved shop drawings, approved materials and any other applicable documents (sketches, RFI's,...).
no one can deny that " health, safety and Environmental " its the most important thing to even they saw it sometimes as a weast timing
During site Inpection, one must ensure that the approved shop drawing has no design conflict regarding levels, interface issues etc with respect to the original ground conditions for avoiding damages of other's works.
