What are the first steps of Construction site Safety Inspection after you take all adequate material?

Workplace inspection is done for specific area, so you should have all the details about the area like on going activity, material & equipment as well as people involved in that activity. On the basis / type of inspection area / activity you must have relevant inspection checklist. 

When proceeding for inspection we should check all the above things.

The finding of inspection should be properly recorded & documented and forwarded to concerned department or area in-charge with recommended corrective action.

Always consider Safe System of work (i.e. Men, material, Equipment and environment) to observe GOOD and bad practices. All the good practices should be highlighted and appreciated. The inspector should play the role of work supporter. An Safety Inspector should not be a Police Inspector.  Safety inspector must be friendly to the working team and always be having practical solutions for the bad observations.

It all depends on the area of inspection and type of work being inspected , for example if you are inspecting a welding work site you would look if they have fire blankets , fire rated gloves , boots and aprons , face shield rated for eye protection , fire extinguishers etc. Let's say that you are inspecting a work site involving Labour working at height , you need to check the scaffolding , safety harnesses and fall protection equipment , safety nets , hard hard , none skid boots etc, so your safety inspection depends on the type of work being performed and the zone within which the work is commencing , differentte zones and works require differente safety procedures , therefore ; different inspections are needed .
