Both are equally important; and yes it totally depends on your objective.

both depends on the research objectives, personally i prefer qualitative research since we are selling electronics products

it is not the matter of importance but it is a matter of using right tools for right purposes.
each method is aimed to help you achieve specific objectives.
sometimes you need to use both quant and qual in one project to get better results.

I feel Quantitative research is more important because existing and prospective customer responses can be clearly identified on response scales.
Subjecting these responses to empirical(quantitative) data analysis leads to results which aid in decision making based on scientific assessment and not purely on hunches or innuendoes.
It should however be noted that the data collection is of superior quality and the sample size is large enough, approx/atleast 1% of the total population size.
Qualitiative research is equally important, but its recommended that qualitative research should be clubbed with quantitative research and not vice-versa.
But then eventually its a matter of trade-off and the research objective/s ought define whether we should conduct quantitative or qualitative research or both :)

To address social issues qualitative is best But i think mixed method gives you more authentic , reliable results.

Quantitative research emphasis on some form of either measurementor classification of variables while qualitative research emphasis on the description of variables its important according to the objectives of research whether qualitative or quantitative
