It depends on one's personal preference and interests. For example, if someone is looking for socializing, Facebook is the best place to do so, while if it's business relations someone is looking for, Linkedin is the greatest place to achieve that.
For personal use Facebook and for professional i suggest LinkedIn

Most of the popular Social Media platforms out there are attractive, it depends on what you wish to do? someone might be happy with Facebook but others might prefer Instagram more if they are into viewing and sharing pictures, some may like Twitter to view and share knowledge whilst others might prefer Four Square to share their travel locations. Some might want to keep in touch with friends and family and others might want to promote their businesses or look for jobs. It all comes down to each individual's preference.

I think Facebook is most attractive social media for all kind of people, but twitter is attractive for celebrity, and linkedin is attractive for who like photography.. Yhanks
