There are lots of language-led blunders that can happen when people from different parts of the world are employed in the same workplace eg they  do not interpret sentence structure and word choice in the same way.

The solution could be as simple as underpinning each diverse workplace with a culture of respect, self confidence, trust and boldness that there is always sufficient time to stop a moment and ask yourself how this works toward a shared goal, and also ask for clarification if needed. Ie in diverse workplaces, the employed need to be more engaged, assessing instructions to fit the goal, not merely take 'orders' , cos sometimes the person could be speaking in vernacular, and the other may take it literally.

One of the challenges of diversity in the workplace is creating a work environment of inclusion so all employees can reach their full potential. Managers have a responsibility to affirmatively determine where language and cultural differences in the workplace are acceptable and where they are not.

In today’s diverse workforce it's highly likely you will have employees working for you who don’t speak your language. Language barriers make it difficult to share your expectations or give feedback to those with whom you cannot communicate effectively.
