Do you find that the maintenance field is a promising one to have a career in?

maintenance section is of the most important sections in any big and multinational company but here in Egypt consider us as helper sections like stores and security i think that the Egyptians has no mind to think about that

In a rapid new industerial revelution in both electrnics and robotics , maintenance has widened vastly and became more detailed , more complicated  and more specialized, although such a revelution did not realy exist in our ME countries . thus my question is : are we ready to digest the upcoming sorts of maintenance ? If  I am correct  then the answer is yes  maintenance is very important for machinaries and will become much more in future . Thanks

Actually I think Ahmed Samir is totally right.
You must have plan B.
Why? Maintenance is considered a supporting function in almost every company.
So you are not paid as the core function, else the company is a service company, which is really rare.
In some fields like electronics, maintenance will be very limited in the next few years.
Electronics are being integrated more and more.
Some mobile phones now are repaired replacing the whole board whatever fault is, no component repair no troubleshooting no fault tracing.
This made a drop in maintenance staff job opportunities.
Learning more skills like training, management or technical skills are necessary.

Organizations, big or small may ignore maintenance at their own peril.
This is a fundamental function that may determine survival of the organization.
It is therefore imperative that the top decision makers should consider which type of maintenance they adopt depending on the organization's assets rather than not having any at all.
They may choose maintenance type from among three main, Corrective (CM), Preventive (PM), Predictive (PdM) or even carefully combine the three, to reap maximum benefits.

of course because if you can repair any machin or let say 80% of machin.
that mean any company will give you a job and you can do anything in this moment

There is no doubt that the maintenance area is very important and significant work on the knowledge of the theory and engineering theories and the nature of the materials and knowledge to several different areas so it is an interesting area to gain experience and skills development is a key area in any system Snaaahz

Maintenance is not enough alone must learn other skills like network administration at least

In evry machinery there is motion and in evry part that moves we have friction and in friction we develop tear and wear. we must prevent the occurrence of wear by constantly the behavior of the machine. I therefore cofirming that maintenance in promising job.
