I don't think that should be the objective, that ship has sailed. The world is globalising, much of this constant transformation has been characterised by the spread of western influence and ideas. Bantu Biko and Frantz Fanon advised us that there's value in multiculturalism, provided our adaption of western ideologies doesn't come at the expense of our African values and culture. What we do need to free our selves from is the mentality of using 'one size fits all' western methods for African problems. Implementing African solutions for African problems can restore our African pride and identity, help us tackle our development challenges and socio political issues, and more importantly, lead to better outcomes.
