The Customer/Client is God, the customer/client is always right or even that the customer/client is king, at same way customer/client are always Liars, we need to judge our self before taking any decision with client/customer.
The customer is always right is the figure of speech to mean yes they may be in the wrong but it is still our duty to make sure that they are persuaded, listened to, provided with alternatives. The end result being that they should feel important and satisfied enough to come back. Sometimes, one gets disruptive customers and still ideally emotional intelligence is key to understand and come out with solutions even if it involves bringing in a third party to help one solve a problematic situation.
Unfortunately they are not always right, but Orgs always do that in order to keep them satisfied. Sometimes this situation leads to a great employee to resign as a result of a bad customer/client...
