Competition can exist from two sides, supply and demand. That means if there are more supply but less demand, it is a competitive situation. In this situation, you would be priced out of the market by competition under quoting you.
If there is demand but less availability of resources in terms of manpower, you would lose manpower to competition. In both the scenario, the answer is specialization. If you could allocate your resources to a profitable niche and differentiate yourself, you could succeed in building a strong brand ( competitive position ) and also be able to manage resources ( manpower )
