What are the types of heavy equipments?

Most popular types are:

1. excavator

2. wheel loader

3. bulldozer

4. crane.

But it will depend a lot on the type of construction work or business you are targeting.  For earth-works, I would add dump trucks, motor grader, water trucks, low bed, etc.

Heavy equipment can be classified by the job to do in different categories; those are

1. Material handling equipment,

2. Earth moving equipment,

3. Road construction equipment,

4. Ready mix concrete production & delivery equipment,

5. Man lifts equipment.

Each category of the above includes different sub categories;

1. Material handling equipment includes telescopic handler, different types of cranes, & forklift trucks

2. Earth moving equipment includes excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozer scraper…etc.

3. Road construction equipment includes asphalt batching plant, milling machines, pavers, motor graders, & different types of compactors.

4. Ready mix concrete production & delivery equipment includes crushers, batching plants, concrete pumps, & transit mixers.

5. Man lift equipment includes telescopic lift, articulated lift, scissors lift…etc.

Heavy Equipment can be classified according its operation as following:

• Lifting Equipment, such as: Mobile and Crawler Cranes,Tower Cranes, Forklifts and Man Lifts.
• Earth Moving Equipment : Loaders, Excavators, Graders, Dump Trucks and Dozers
• Road Equipment : Finishers, Compactors Loaders.
• Ready Mix Concrete : Mobile Pumps, Fixed Pumps, Placing Boom and Truck Mixer.

There are various kinds of Heavy Equipment in Short Any piece of equipment which is equipped with High pressure Hydraulics, Pneumatic, PTO, and usually driven by Diesel powered engines could call Heavy equipments. e.g. Trucks, Lift trucks, Reach Stackers, Cranes, Boom lift equipments etc.
