OSRI should be the last resort. but it really depends on the situation. If the importantant files has a backup and you are running low on time and resources. then sure go for OSRI. Thats why redundancy is so important. Especially in the company setting. A single problem on one terminal can propagate to every termincal with the same characterists. Simply always going for OSRI will not prevent future problems to occur. Knowing the root of the problem is tantamount in finding the solution and preventing it to occur once more. At least document the root so that if there are other problems in the future it can easily be fixed saving time, money and resources. Keep in mind. OSRI takes alot of time.

NO, issues can resolve in several ways, can use recovery,restore etc..
