An AutoCAD generated drawing provides information about some parameters but not all parameters. So, % data extraction (quantity extraction) is not possible from an AutoCAD drawing. AutoCAD does not allow you in producing any Bill of Quantities sheet automatically from a drawing. If you still want to get BOQ, you need to open an excel sheet and you have to enter all the parameters manually within the sheet, but this sheet will not provide you comprehensive BOQ data.
Another way of creating BOQ is you can use customized plug-in software’s which will assist you in generating well organized data or quantities automatically from an AutoCAD drawing.
