Depends on the business basically.If its an ice cream industry's transportation they would keep the network in which icecream can be delivered before it loss the wonderfull taste it has.. Once my teacher of management told us that the bacteria reacts with icecream so fast that it loose the actual flavor in minutes.. that can be the time in which it is moved from packaging to the transportation carriages..

shorter time Vs maximum delivery and cost effectiveness would lead to efficient transportation KPIs.

Also, minimizing the delivery cycles defining the best route to deliver goods.
