While both preventive and predictive maintenance have the same objective of preventing any losses. They differ in approach and requirements.

• Preventive maintenance is carried out at regular intervals whereas predictive maintenance is based upon the condition of the equipment that needs to be monitored all the time. Preventive maintenance is driven by time, meter, while predictive maintenance is determined by the condition of equipment .

Thank you for kind invitation

preventive maintenance is maintenance that is regularly performed on a piece of equipment to lessen the likelihood of it failing. Preventive maintenance is performed while the equipment is still working, so that it does not break down unexpectedly.

The aim of predictive maintenance is first to predict when equipment failure might occur, and secondly, to prevent occurrence of the failure by performing maintenance. Monitoring for future failure allows maintenance to be planned before the failure occurs. Ideally, predictive maintenance allows the maintenance frequency to be as low as possible to prevent unplanned reactive maintenance

Predictive maintenance is the complement of preventive maintenance. Through the utilization of various nondestructive testing and measuring techniques, predictive maintenance determines equipment status before a breakdown occurs. With predictive devices currently available, it is incumbent upon maintenance organizations to include the process of predictive maintenance in their maintenance programs. A

Preventive Maintenance

It is generally timely scheduled and planned maintenance to prevent any unexpected breakdown or shut down during the operation. It is carried out at regular interval for smooth uninterrupted operation of plant.

Predictive Maintenance

This is new and emerging type of maintenance process which includes monitoring the condition of equipment using various sensors and based on data from sensors state of equipment is calculated and if equipment is going to fail, it can be predicted in advance and maintenance can be carried out.

It has advantage over preventive maintenance as no complete shutdown is required to check each and every equipment.

Preventative maintenance (or preventive maintenance) is maintenance that is regularly performed on a piece of equipment to lessen the likelihood of it failing.Preventative maintenance is performed while the equipment is still working, so that it does not break down unexpectedly.

(PdM) techniques are designed to help determine the condition of in-service equipment in order to predict when maintenanceshould be performed. This approach promises cost savings over routine or time-based preventive maintenance, because tasks are performed only when warranted.

thank you Abu Hanif

I believe both are the same meaning i. e. it drives a  regular and systematic application of engineering knowledge and maintenance attention to equipment and facilities to ensure their proper functionality and to reduce their rate of deterioration.

Preventive maintenance is a calendar based maintenance that required interruption of the machine operation (e.g. motor circuit analysis, adjustment of fan blades, tightening of terminals,...) while for the predictive maintenance it is unnecessarily to stop the machine (e.g. vibration survays, motor signature analysis, acoustic immitions, partial discharge ...)

Preventive maintenance is doing for the prevention of faults of equipments without considering the behavior of plant and machineries, this is doing on the basis of a period of times.

Predective maintenance is the maintenance of equipments that is doing on the basis of the analysis of the performance of the plant and machineries to avoid the future problems.this maintenance is not on the basis of a period of time

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE IT TAKE WHEN THE MACHINE ARE SHUT DOWN WHILE PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE IS ACTIVITIES ARE CARRIEL OUT AS THE MACHINE ARE RUNNING IN THEIR NORMAL PRODUCTION

preventive maintenance is regulary with a plan doing before long time  . but predictive maintenance is doing when your machine still working but you see something not normal ( voice or odor....) .

Preventing Maintenance is best parctice for day to day  knowledge our equipment but predictive maintenance are highly costly because we have no basis of surprise will come during maintenance.
