Ali Alawieh  answer is best and i just want to add  that IPv6 is more faster and efficient in the sense that IPv6 header is optimized so that router can process IPv6 packets more quickly.

Simply because we are running out of IPv4 addresses, especially with the rise of the internet of things, we will need much much more addresses , thus the need for IPV6. Ipv4 is bits , while IPV6 is so it can hold much more addresses than IPv4 can.

More in depth, IPV6 makes sub-netting much easier since there's a reserved space in the address itself for sub-nets.

Not to mention other technologies which make IT people life easier and networking more efficient, like Link-local addresses , stateless DHCP...

Also all the NATing as a workaround for the lack of ipv4 adresses is a waste of processing power and unnecessary (with ipv6) added complexity.
