Internal and external audits are essentials however in daily business /operations some basic things are very helpful to ensure compliance with policy. We must create and develop solid and flawless controls. Make it sure all controls are working according to policy and procedures. Maker / checker or supervisory checks are most important factor to comply with policy.

Policy awareness programs / trainings / workshops are helpful to educate people to comply with policy.

All mentioned things could be main reasons to evade audit objections and helpful to compliance with policy.
