How would an amateur make it in the IT industry?

I am a computer science graduate and is currently working as a graphic designer. I would want to be in the IT field on my next contract and forever but have no experiences yet. I was good in school but seems to forget various hands-on stuffs related to the work, however theoretically I can still recall it. How would I be able to make it if I have no experience yet?

I have CISCO and SAP certifications in addition to my degree. I would appreciate expert advice

In my opinion everybody is amateur in the begining then by traing you may be a proffesional in IT industry. We all born amature can nothing at all. So with practise you can get where you want. It is a free will.
