Quantity variance or efficiency = SP * (AQ-SQ)

SP is standard price

AQ is actual quantity

SQ  is standard quantity

  • A quantity variance is the difference between the actual usage of something and its expected usage. 

              Quantity variance -(Actual quantity used - Standard quantity used) x Standard cost per unit

  • The efficiency equation is a comparison of the work output from an operation to the work input to that same operation. 

              Efficiency =(Work output / Work input) x%
