Following are the ways:

1. Daily mointoring of KPIs and taking action in order to improve the KPI .

2. Making all process automated i.e less person dependent which result into high efficiency.

3. Implementation of Lean principles and continous improvement should be carried out for best outcome

    with good quality.

It would take too long to list all the products that are impacted by chemical engineers, but knowing what industries employ them may help you comprehend the scope of their work.

Chemical engineers work in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, design and construction, pulp and paper, petrochemicals, food processing, specialty chemicals, microelectronics, electronic and advanced materials, polymers, business services, biotechnology, and environmental health and safety industries, among others.

Within these industries, chemical engineers rely on their knowledge of mathematics and science—particularly chemistry— to overcome technical problems safely and economically. And, of course, they draw upon and apply their engineering knowledge to solve any technical challenges they encounter. Don't make the mistake of thinking that chemical engineers only “make things,” though. Their expertise is also applied in the areas of law, education, publishing, finance, and medicine, as well as in many other fields that require technical training.

Track the Process Parameters on daily basis and analyze the deviations if any.Carry out the Root cause analysis for the deviations if needed.

Keep an eye on Specific Consumptions.

Check for any alterations in raw material feed with respect to quality(Physical / Chemical)

Check for all the Flow / Pressure / temperature Transmittors as malfuntion of any of them may lead to quality disruptions.

By doing Energy balance , efficiency of the process can be tracked regularly.

Hello,

As a Production Engineer, you will have good knowledge on process operation and its parameters,

The Process yield improvement study starts with

Heat and material balance (HMB) chart which will help us to identify potential areas where our mass and energy are converted into product.

After HMB, you will get a clear picture of equipment occupancy and possibility to increase production quantity.

Improving the yield (Production quality) is reduction in % of impurities in final product, this could be achieved by studying the raw material quality, process technology which is in use and processing steps.

Proper selection of processing equipment will help us to do this. As a production engineer under high targets in achieving daily production targets I hope one can concentrate on,

Raw material quality check

Production process steps

Proper and through monitoring of process parameters

effective utilization of equipment available.

Following in-house quality standards

Proper product conveying method.

The process must be understood in detail before improving the same. Process parameters (Control & Check Points) , FMEA are trusted methods of process improvements. QC tools may also be deployed to look at the process outputs statistically to arrive at the problems (Ishikawa Diagram , Pareto etc)

The FMEA is important to analyse the reasons for the loss and thus what steps may be taken to control them.

Many processes needs to be analyzed to arrive at possible Cpk levels and then approaches on Daily Management or technological solutions may be arrived.
