Dear Ahmed, The role of the interior designer in sustainability has a bid impact in terms of the natural captivity and utilisation of all natural resources somewhat like the following:1.natural sunlight-it can help broaden the day lights.most of the interior designer neve see this intentions.it must be consider the adaptation of this resources.it also helps make indoor plants take their enrichments of polygrain and nutrients and plants will produce oxygen where we can breathe fresh air.2.common and empty containers-the diversity and the utilisation of the solid waste supposed to be can be converted into a design if the interior designers is well verse to sustain the environment instead of throwing it can be develop into a design.3.DIY-Do it yourself.it is part of an interior designer to motivate the clients/owners of the said project to be involve and information of diversity to give them interest in sustainability so that the chain of interaction will become a command not only for themselves but also to the community. I am glad that i was been able to answer this questions and hoping this will satisfy the questions.

A very nice question with very nice answers & I can add some more ideas like paints.Paints should be non-toxic, contain natural ingredients, such as vegetable oil and dyes, have an easy-to-clean finish to last longer and avoid frequent repaints, offer easy clean-up of brushes avoiding the need to use harsh chemicals, and come in recyclable packaging and tins. AL so using wood & rubber are good ideas for sustainability .

Well in my opinion there is a lot of sustainability involved in the way a space is organized. If properly designed then a space would for example maximize on sun for heat and shade for coolness depending on location to minimize the use of electricity. If an interior designer takes these things into consideration not only can they maximize the use of the space but can also minimize the cost of maintenance and create a lower environmental footprint.

Mrs Maali Qasem Khader give great example about how can design impact environmental factors like energy consumption, and Mrs Noura Salah Eldin talked about LED technology and recycling, so i will talk about how material selected by interior designer can help in sustaining our environment :

- using thermodynamic material instead of traditional (i.e using blanco mortar in plastering instead of regular cement,  thermo glass,  poly carbonate sheet .. etc)

- using bio gradable plastic furniture

- stop using restricted and Endangered Wood Specie in furniture and veneer, we can use engineering (artificial) veneer

The use of LED lighting

Energy conservation using solar and wind energy any use of alternative energy in the operation of the building

The incoming raw materials to be recycled in a safe and environmentally design and Ally, for example the use of Barticaboard plates, a plate made of% recycled wooden planks and cladding to the walls in case you need to wooden surfaces and thus is not a new section of wood consumption

everyone elaborated every nicely. i would like to add " consider carbon emission in the whole building life cycle process not only in choosing material but operationally as well and the great example for interior designer is to follow LEED processes in sustainability".

Thanks for invitation, Sustainability is:

- Focus on long-term environmental impact of space using natural environmentally friendly materials such as wood with operating and maintenance attention.

- Use of the possibilities of smart automation options in the design and adapted to the development of the space design.

- Increasing green spaces ventilation paths to suit the space - if possible –

- Balance in the use of raw materials and colors to give positive energy to users.

- Maintaining and minimize the use of clean energy.

His role is to design the interior in which all systems and materials are designed with an emphasis on integration into a whole for the purpose of minimizing negative impacts on the environment and occupants and maximizing positive impacts on environmental, economic and social systems over the life cycle of a building.

Examples of his roles:

Maximize the efficient use of space

Use energy-wise construction and design materials

Use materials produced in a socially responsible manner

Plan for energy-efficient lighting.

Use non-toxic and non-polluting products.

Reduce waste by using reclaimed or recycled materials.
