For me the best thing about social media marketing in terms of helping sales is the re-targeting capabilities. Facebook allows you to put tracking pixels in your site so that once a person has visited your site you can then target them directly with your latest offers further down the line on social media.
Even better is if you run an integrated campaign whereby you may be targeting people on LinkedIn (completely different targeting options to FB/Insta/Twitter), which has a much higher CPC than other platforms, but then once they have clicked through to your site, you can retarget them on Facebook at a fraction of the cost.
Also if your site has e-commerce capabilities you can even run what is called dynamic product ads. How they work is if a person looks at a particular product on your website, you can then market that exact product to them repeatedly through Facebook ads. And if you're marketing to a person you already know is interested in that exact product, you're going to see a serious increase in your conversion rates.
Apart from the Awareness Posts that can direct people into being interested in a product or service, and thus buy it, we can simply post Call For Action posts where our followers or target audience is asked to buy such a product or invest or call or... Social media campaigns can be easily measured when it comes to impression, reach, organic engagement, paid engagement, and sales: In case a social media campaign is part of a whole integrated marketing strategy, we can ask our customers where they heard of our product.
Would a social media campaign work alone? Maybe, it depends on your product. (if you are a fashion retailer, an event planner, or have a special offer...) it would make more sense to invest more online, Not everyone uses the internet, yes, but is it cost efficient? very. Will it get you results? Yes.
Well one thing can be said about social media that its a very cost effective tool if its used properly, and with the increasing number of online users every day its almost impossible not to use social media as a sale tool
One factor is that its for free in most cases. Most of the planet uses social media so there a wide audience, social media can be tailored to meet a niche. Its like how some things are better left to twitter and some best left to facebook
When it comes to e-commerce, being social is really matter. When you start to communicate, u ll be seen, when you are seen, the it depends of you and company..
Facebook has the highest conversation rate, but all other are important as well.
Social media platform allow sales people to track information that was previously unavailable using the largely considered conventional sales method. With such platform one can analyse the demographics of customers for profiling and re-marketing. More-so using platforms like Facebook, a sales person can customize the customer response by using the call to action button for either Sign up or Shop now. Because the customer is already signed up on the social media platform, KYC (know your customer) is easier. More-so other useful consumer behaviours can be analysed to further enhance the platform such as the re-directions to the e-commerce/shopping site as well as impressions and page sessions
Transparency , Customer freedom, better customer service platform , generate more targeted sales and opportunity to reach target audience , makes social media a good sales platform.
