Indication OR reason in variation of amperes consumed by a centrifugal pump's motor are;
1- discharge & suction pressure of liquid flow.
2- variation in voltages.
3- unproper motor insulation (proper meggering required)
4- pump shaft/bearing issue.
And it is possible that may be the impeller of pump has damaged or dimensional error of impeller as per actual design of pump & motor.
Actually and after many trials i've just found a simple indication where if your pump is newly installed and you are facing a problem whether in the quantity of flow or a reduction in pressure you must get the amperes readings from the station and readings using a clamp direct from the main power cable. If you found that readings are high, then you are facing a trouble in discharge valve 'it must not be fully open' and if the readings were low then vice versa. The second indication of the suction valve might be closed enough to cause a suction-pressure-reduction in suction side. Thanks
