There are5 types of operating systems as per classification.
Realtime OS - Which is very strict on response time like for robots or warfields.
Time Sharing OS- Multiple users can work on a single processor, which execute them by switching the tasks
Distributed OS- There will be multiple processors/terminals and the task is completed even if one terminal fails.
Network OS- No need for installing this OS, the bootstrap thread of this OS instructs to load the OS from a specific network
Batch OS- The jobs are provided in the beginning as batches through commands/cartridges. Once the task is begun the user will have to wait still all the batch operations are completed
