AVR stand for Aortic Valve Surgery. this procedure is performed for severe aortic valve regurgitaion/stenosis and aortic valve is replaced by homogeneous or heterogeneous bioprosthesis and/or mechanical valves. 

its complications are categorized into immediate (bleeding, paravalvular leak, prosthetic valve dysfunction, heart blocks, VSR post insertion) and intermediate-longterm (bleeding or thromboembolic events due to anticoagulants mismanagement, prosthetic valve endocarditis, prosthetic valve dysfunction due to pannus ingrowth, hemolysis and etc.)

AVR , is aortic valve replacemente, one of the complications could be a tromboembolic complication with a isquemic or brain infarct, also we could have infectious complications with bacteriemia, and a myocardial infarction.

It is a procedure that we replace the aortic valve by another artificial one, it is done for patient suffering of valve stenosis or regurgitation who have severe symptoms despite medical treatment, as they have shortness of breath dizziness fatigue or maybe chest pain , complications are a range from bleeding respiratory failure , infection and paravalvular leake , wound dehesience , or later on valvular re stenosis or failure
