I find your answer so correcte but from another point of view , because in frence when we speak about the four element which architecture required as basic material than we say : Water, earth, air, fire.

I would go with Semper if we talk about the main elements used by mankind to build as he enumerated “ceramics, roofing (carpentry), mounding (terracing and masonry), and weaving (walling)”.

If we elevate our nature above the actual need, well, architecture´s elements are space, light, form and place.

Then we can go on..

 

As architects we work with template, function (demand), construction and cost.
