Well, creative content is a base which you need to start from. Otherwise, rest of the efforts will be wasted. Remember that long posts are less attractive than shorter one with the pics (nowadays pictures are driving the game). Post regularly in the language of audience. Be available to answer all doubts and questions.

Sharing the content on social media, groups, forums - that's other aspect. Proper hashtags, key words can be very helpful in searching the content available on your website. If you have budget or can do it on your own - invest in SEO.

At the end I would add - invite expert bloggers, creating friendly community will always help you.

The blog has to be focused on one or more related areas that are perceived interesting by target audience. Also, the blogger has to be passionate about the area she/he is writing about. Moreover, the blogger has to post new, funny and sometimes weird facts about the topic in order to keep the audience attracted to her/his blog. Last, in order to make the blog popular, the blogger should advertise online and share the entries or articles on social media.

1.Leverage social media. Make the most of social media by including “Share” on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, Google+, and StumbleUpon buttons on your blog. The easier you make it for people to share your content with their network, the more likely they are to do so.

2. Make sure your content is SEO-friendly. Get smart about search engine optimization. Identify the key words for searching for a posting’s subject matter, and think about the best way to incorporate those search terms into the title and body of the post.

3. Speak your audience’s language.

4. Be a part of the conversation, both on your blog and of others in your industry. Drive traffic to other blogs, and respond as much as you can to both negative and positive comments about your own blog.

Writing for SEO is something that has been rarely mentioned in this post, but it's truly a key to success.  Knowing what your audience is searching for and then ensuring that you are communicating using similar terms will ensure that the right people will find you.  For my personal blog, convertconfessions.com, I also used interesting, captivating titles that stand out to my target audience.

Firstly, the Blog posts need to be in a very easy and understandable language, targeted to an audience of your choice. For ex. If the blog posts revolve around the topic of Cars and gadgets, you should very well know who is your target audience here and not expect anyone and everyone to read your blog. To promote it further, join forums, communities on social media, since that would be of great help. Also, make use of the best keywords or most searched keywords, this you can do by analyzing the content through SEO. Lastly, also make sure you keep updating your blog with posts and pictures or videos, as this could make your blog interactive and automatically get you viewers even through word of mouth.

Blogs needs to be short, not drifting from the main headline / subject matter. Creative writing is preferably better than dull boring tone of voice. Content written on subjects that will go viral. Mostly emotional subjects such as relationships, age of technology and humanity, fashion, food, how to help on things or reviews. And of course and anonymous blog should be tweeted and made viral through sharing within networks.

Why write anonymously? Anyways. write and share on different social networking websites, give some relevant link (but not too much and only link relevant keywords), write for something popular, comment on some other blogs and share your link (where you're requested to enter your website, link your blog to your twitter/G+/linkedin account, ask your friends and family to share, like and comment on your blog. Making your blog will require some time and patience but the end result are far better than one can imagine :D

Actually there is no rocket science to promote your blog.  It is just adhering to the basics.  The first and the foremost is going social.  The number of shares you can generate from your social network will determine the pace of popularity of your blog as the click through is a direct function of number of shares of a post and the open rate in case of an email.

The second channel is emails.  Get a good follower-ship of your newsletter. However, emailing is a very sensitive area. You need to keep the frequency in check so that it does not becomes irritating and still is aggressive enough to keep the audience engaged and results flowing.

From here on-wards things start getting tricky.  You cannot keep the follower ship for long with a poor website.  You need to invest on the website.  Make it engaging for the readers along with advertisements placed in a manner not to offend but to add value to the website and generate revenue for you.  You need to have a mechanism to collect emails of the visitors and gather their social profile. It is not having a share button on the page. You need to make it more in the flow of activities on the page visit.  Another thing is engagement on the page.  Get the readers to comment and share their views on the blog. It is best done through leaving some open ended discussion points or discussion leading text.

In the end whatever you do to promote, unless you have a good content all else becomes futile.  Quality content comes on the top of everything.  Make sure the content is not just for traffic but it also adds value to the readers or your blog will not be sustainable.  Write sizable content. Small articles fail to make a point and are usually only opinionated. Small articles are also not favored by the search engines.  Be consistent in your frequency of blogs and in between the two blogs keep the audience engaged through bite site discussions originating from the last blog.

Some small things to end up. Use pictures, info graphics, charts and videos where ever you can and also use the visual social media and leverage the image and video search in the search engine.

Cheers and happy blogging.
