I will do market survey to know what is Competitor price and how they are positioning their product at different levels which means Price at stores and price at whole sale levels.

Once I have prices then I will check what is competitor activity for the promotion of their product. After these two products i will decide weather to go ATL or BTL strategy for my product.

Yes! Marketing plans has to set before trying to make it available. for this, one has to prepare GTM strategy.in the Go to market strategy, a reverse calander has to made which should contain all relevant steps date wise.

example:

step-1: placing the product at Retail/Store level can be termed as D Day

step2; Retail and in-shop demonstrators training along with merchandising at shop can be termed as D-2 to D-5 days

Step3; product training to beat executives,Sales officer and all related to sales & distribution can be given at D-6 to D- days

Step4: product availability at concern distributor point at D-3 days

like this, one has to make calendar.. and then go-ahead.

I would build both strategies at the same time.

Marketing would make potential clients/clients desiring the product and the sales would put it available in correct time on the market.

Marketing will drive sales. Moreover, the function of marketing is to make the demand for a product move from elastic to inelastic. Lead with marketing and try to drive sales through inbound demand.

I would start the marketing campaign first to ensure that the customers know about my product, then apply my sales plan. I would suggest a creative teasing marketing campaign in order to make the customers want the product and waiting for it even more.
