This can be done by professional football clubs, who include players they have purchased under intangible assets.  Revaluations go through the profit and loss account.   However, that is a highly regulated environment - players cannot go and play for another club.   It can't be done in a corporate environment.

If you can't sell it then it's not a balance sheet asset.
