Hi Brother,  Yassir,

if you are new so let me make it easy for you in simple words..

RAID is redundant array of inexpensive disks . :-)

ok ok let me make it simple for you.

RAID enable Fault tolerance in you can add more than one Hard Disks in to the host and configure the raid for example.

you are running windows2k8 (server2008). and you configure AD on it. you have only one hard disk and let say that dard disk is become faulty. so what will happens?

yes your server will down.

So here is the game begin. We need to enable raid. We need more than one HDD .

Now think again your AD server goes down and you have2 Hard Disks and you enable Raid1 with these two disks. Dont worry your data will be save and your server will not down and be alive because Raid1 is enable Fault tolerance and if one of the HDD is going faulty second will take over the first down one's.

For type of raid and more details you should watch this video or read this content :

Many Thanks. Muhammad Tahir
