To get a good rapport i would try to understand what is important to the boss and figure out his/her methods. Keeping that in mind i would try to stay relevent and make myself useful by figuring out the challenges they would encounter and being prepared to offer solutions. I would also make sure i stay focused, take initiative, be punctual and work hard
