What is the real function of Human Resources? What is the role of HR in the organization?

Generally speaking, Human Resources attracts, hires, develops and moves talents across the organization. This is the most common definition of the role of Human Resources in the company. On the other hand, it is not the perfect definition because it hides many HR processes that add the strategic value. This definition is not broad enough to cover all key roles and responsibilities of HR; it does not mention the performance management, diversity or the talent development.

Human Resources has to develop processes and procedures to make sure that the know-how, successors, decisions flow smoothly. HR has to design processes like the performance management to make sure that everything works and meets required standards.

The key function of Human Resources is the right organization design that ensures the delivery of promises. The company delivering products and services to clients and customers is a primary objective for Human Resources. It is not just a goal for the leadership team; HR has to share the responsibility. HR has to find a compromise between employees and managers to establish the firm that outperforms competitors.

Role of Human Resource Management

The human resources management team suggests to the management team how to strategically manage people as business resources. This includes managing recruiting and hiring employees, coordinating employee benefits and suggesting employee training and development strategies. In this way, HR professionals are consultants, not workers in an isolated business function; they advise managers on many issues related to employees and how they help the organization achieve its goals.
