If there's one thing I learned, it'd be to say only positive things about your employer or ex-employer. Negativity will never benefit you in any way.

Boss is always boss, your career will depend much on him. So, if you are certain that the boss has given you a worst advice- do not be afraid.

Please note your valid points with solid justification and talk to the boss. Please try to listen first and then based on your boss’ judgment, put your opinion and try to arrive at least at a “second best solution" which may be the best or optimum.

I never received any bad advice from any ex-boss. I only was faced with bad decisions.

I´ve already entered in some discordances about strategical/human resources management alignments that I could not "fight" for too long time to not go ahead. In one case they went ahead with it, I got fired myself and after 2 years the company entered in bankrupt because of that decision (loss of a contract that was +- 45% of the company revenues). But anyway, after almost 20 years, I keep a good and close friendship with that ex-boss.

Only hire people who are married. Seriously, a client actually said that to me. His reasoning was that married people were more stable. Oh boy (I advice him that you should then remove equal employment opportunity provider tag from your company website.)
