The answer depends on so many variables.

The simple thought is is he/she is qualified to do the job and please be sure that during selection process you take your self out and the rest of the team decide to hire or not.

Hiring a close relative in an organization can make and break the employee motivation easily so be out of the selection process and let the team decide. That's called leadership quality.

It depends on qualifications and your attitude. If you decide to hire family member then do not forget to treat him/her the same way like other employees, otherwise it may cause lot of misunderstandings. For some people it might be hard to distinguish family and work life, which you need to remember about also.

I worked in my family business for the past 8 years, it had its pros and cons. But mainly it was a very good 8 years with a lot of new things that I learned. So I guess it's a very good thing to habe a family member working in the company.

This is my perspective towards it.

It is a bad idea to to hire a family member to work with your own company. There are few pros and cons to it. He(family member) can prove himself to be the best member in the company or the worst. If he is able to prove himself or fulfill all your expectations then it would be one of your best decision so far but if he is not able to then you will be restricted at so many things because he being a family member you cannot yell at him, warn him or remove him from your company because this will only destroy the relation you share as a family all you can do in such situation is explain them things patiently or encourage them to do what you want. If he is in need of a job and you think he can be the key player or at least someone who won't take your advantage in a bad way and will fulfill your expectations then you can hire him and if you don't feel such then don't. Once you have taken a firm decision then you can perform 2 rakah of Istikhara and make dua. Istikhara means Seeking ALLAH'S counsel. Do you want to know how to pray Istikhara?
