In broad perspective, emergency planning is known as Business Continuity Planning. The main theme of Business Continuity Planning is how you can continue your business during an emergency like earthquake, floods and other natural disasters.  The main requirements of business continuity planning are as such:

1.    To have small office a bit far from your main office.

2.    Small office shall be equipped with all modern communication equipment, computer, laptop and backup server. This server is to be connected with main sever through data link and is to be backup  on daily basis

3.    One small conference room

4.    Backup  Generator

5.    Emergency staff list

Assuming the scenario, that main office is not accessible during emergency, you can still continue your business in smaller scale from your small office with backup server an emergency staff.

Disaster management (or emergency management) is the creation of plans through which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters. Disaster management does not avert or eliminate the threats; instead, it focuses on creating plans to decrease the effect of disasters.
