Study body language. Read books, watch videos and most importantly observe and note what you see and hear. In business a lot of people try and keep their poker face on and may not show you what they are truly thinking. Allan andBarbara Pease have written a few good books on the topic which have benefited me greatly.
Increase your emotional intelligence. Without a doubt this is as important as point one. Being aware of what you’re saying and how you are reacting to certain situations can benefit you greatly. When you react badly to situations or use the wrong emotions to convey your ideas you will be set back. Understanding how to best put your ideas across and show passion and drive (even when you don’t actually feel it) will go a long way in impressing people. It is also important to understand why and how people react to your ideas and words. Spend time listening and asking questions about what you have said or done and you will reveal a lot more weaknesses which will when developed will provide you with the skills to move forward
