To work with AutoCAD latest versions and multimedia software, such as graphics design work my suggest is Dell Precision" SeriesGB, its a very powerful mobile work station. It can be upgrade till4TB storage HD display. And also recommend HP ZBook G3,GB, HP's most powerful mobile workstation currently using in professional companies. I have been using this both workstations.

Laptop or Pc is depend on office where you work. With laptop can work from any were any time.

I will suggest - Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor (Basic Speed > 3.0 Ghz - if possible) - 8-16 Gb Ram - 2 Gb Ram (dedicated) graphic card

Several things decides whether to use a laptop or a pc for Autocad Or sketching both plays a good role in performing the task.

PC is cheaper than laptop and we can get larger screen to do our work properly but it is best for office work because it is not portable at the same time laptop is portable and we can carry it to anywhere,we can carry it to our seniors or other experts for evaluation just like we carry our notebook in our colleges for discussion.
