How to deal with "cannot paste data" issue in excel?

Depending on how you've copied the info. If you have copied an entire cell and wish to paste into the formula bar or by double clicking into another cell, it will give you this problem. Easiest thing to do is hit Esc and copy again and paste by only clicking once on the cell you want to paste into.

By just hitting Esc, you can copy again and paste

I don’t have a proper solution but here’s a work-around for this issue – Paste to Word and then copy and paste back to Excel.

Even a reboot might resolve the problem.

We can solve this issue by using "Paste Special" function.

Many of the times we copy any information from a cell which contains formulas and it gives errors some times if we simply press CTRL + V. To resolve this error use paste special command. Right Click on the destination cell and there shall be a window with many options like All, formulas, values, format and so on. Select any of them and paste it.
