It is not. I all my life speak simple but correct English. This is what I teach me students - speak simple but correct!
Good English is having good command of English words and phrases that when put together are simple and clear to understand to the listener and most importantly yourself.
Complicated words have their place and it depends on what you regard as a complicated word.#
With time, confidence will come to learn new words and you will be able to say them and understand what they mean easily.
Keep things simple so that you have a good grounding in the language and are relaxed with the words and can have conversations and communicate easily with the words you choose.
It is not necessary at all, you should learn how to speak and write a simple, clear and undertandable English. Nobody can obtain or gain all the English words, whatever you do you will face new words. Commplicted Vocabs not all the people understand it, but simple Vocabs all the people wil understand it.
i think more simple you are more understandable, better than complex words.
There is no need to complicate the spoken English with complicated words. keep it simple as much as possible.
History depicts that the writers, poets and preachers who used simpler language were accepted and acknowledged more than the ones who used the difficult language understood by only a few.
Hi Ms. Fida,
I believe not, because most of complicated words has a simple word that could be use, you have to use what is easy for you, at least start with.
Then by practicing the language regularly you will find that you use the complicated ones as well ,but in that time, you will find that it is not complicated at all.
BTW: This rule is not in English but in any new language you may learn, Secret is in Practicing practicing and practicing.
Best of luck J
Not "complicated" but specialized vocabulary in the field you are focused on. And read, read a lot!
Learn complex or difficult words don't benefit only translators, especially interpreters and translators of novels and literary texts ,They are the beneficiaries of such terms
