Why do we use concrete and steel in RCC structure? Why instead of steel other materials cannot be used?

We have to use steel and concrete in R.c.c structure because of concrete required strength is gained by the structure.which other material doesn't have a bonding with the steel to obtain strength

adding to what my friends mentioned. One of the important concept for using steel is its yielding behavior. other materials can be used like GFRP but it has a linear behavior.

The Co efficient of linear expansion of concrete and steel is same. The Co efficinet of linear expansion is the change in lenght per unit lenght at per degree centigrate raise the temperature.

Its matter of compatability between both the materials.
