Is it practical for African countries to adopt free trade with develop countries or is it going to affect their competitive position?

Preferably some restrictions to avoid the unwanted there is nothing wrong in facilitating some of which promote trade to meet the shortfall in each and benefit from each other.

I understand that the free trade agreements allow developing countries to protect their local manufacturing. I believe that free trade adoption will support the competitive position of developing countries If applied wisely and used to capitalize on each country's strengths.
