Generaly, high protein diet may cause kidneys to work more, but hardly any diet can cause their failture.Kidneys filtrate about litres of water a day. Stay hydrated and everything will be fine.

- Protein Restriction

- Calcium, Phosphorous restriction

- Avoid Potassium rich foods

- Restricted fluid level will help more

- Salt restriction

- Protein: It can be obtained from animal sources and various vegetable such as meat, eggs, fish, dairy products and legumes, lentils.

- Potassium : The most important sources of potatoes, banana, pear juice, yogurt, raisins, apricots and beans of all kinds green leafy vegetables, oranges and grapefruit, as well as red meat, pulses and milk.

- Sodium (and the most important sources of salt) and ready-made foods and processed meats and soups.

- Phosphorus : The most important sources of milk and dairy products, meat, poultry, fish and whole cocoa pistachios, peanuts, legumes, nuts, butter and cereals.

- Calcium: the most important sources of animal and dairy products like milk, cheese, yogurt, green leafy vegetables and clams, oysters, almonds, beans, tofu and soft bones of canned fish, such as sardines, mackerel and salmon.

But how should control these nutrients and appropriate amounts?

Proteins:

You must reduce the amount of protein, as the urea is the product that results from metabolism

Proteins in the body and increase the amount of protein in the body leads to increased burden on the kidneys, and therefore recommend reducing the amount of protein in the diet, according to the patient's condition, weight and various data of his body, according to the results of his examinations laboratory, but this patient to resort to a dietitian advised to help them build a specific diet appropriate protein for him.

And it is reduced by the amount of protein kidney efficiency, where it is adding 20 to kidney efficiency. For example, if the total efficiency of 20% is added to it 20 to become the amount of protein that person 40% of daily nutrition.

And examine the efficiency of the kidneys is what is known as the rate of filtration glomerulonephritis "GFR" It is considered the basis for determining the amount of protein are allowed, as follows:

- If the result of the nomination of glomerulonephritis rate of less than 25 ml / min, the amount of protein appropriate for that person should not exceed 45 g protein per day of all animal and plant sources of protein.

- If the result of the nomination of glomerulonephritis rate higher than 25 ml / min, the amount of protein appropriate for that person about 60 g protein per day from all sources.

And, of course, I would prefer to have half the amount of allowable protein from animal sources and the other half from plant sources, and by reducing the amount of protein in the diet should be the patient's attention to the amount of starches and carbohydrates that are dealt with, if not dealt with the appropriate amount of them, this will lead to overwork the kidneys, where the body will be used store protein in the body to convert it into energy and use.

Potassium:

Determine the amount of potassium depends as per the blood on. If you have proven tests that the high rate of blood is worth moving away from its sources and that we have mentioned previously, either if it was the opposite happened shortage in the amount of potassium in the blood is worth increasing the intake of different sources such as bananas, apricots, raisins and others.

Phosphorus and calcium:

All metals are filtered kidney, including phosphorus, calcium, and must be done to reduce the amount of phosphorus so doing, we will ensure non-progression of kidney problem Increasing calcium in the blood leads to the deposition of calcium in the tissues of the internal kidney, which would make things worse, in addition to phosphorus affects calcium levels in the body where the increased phosphorus in the blood will lead to increased calcium escape and was pulled out of the bone and thus may be the cause of the occurrence of osteoporosis, and that increasing the amount of calcium in the blood leads to the occurrence of many problems and an imbalance in the fluid balance in the body that affect the heart and body all health. To this we should reduce the sources of phosphorus intake and taking the appropriate amounts of calcium to the body.

Sodium:

It increases the fatigue of the kidneys and increases blood pressure, heart problems and arteries. That depends determine the amount of sodium in the body on the status of the blood and heart sodium, the amount of which are raised within 24 hours pressure, often sodium allowable amount does not exceed 2.3 grams per day, and in some cases, such as cases of fluid retention in the body, high blood pressure and others may not exceed 1 g per day.

Liquids:

In the critical and difficult of kidney failure stages must reduce the amount of liquids and water, especially in critical situations such as entrapment of fluid in the body and heart failure and cases of blood pressure, it is measured by the competent and calculated according to the amount of urine that is taken out so that there is a balance between the intake of liquids and liquids raised from the body .
