Branding and Marketing like left and right hands need to be applying both for the market. My answer is branding mean is visual appeal to get attention and recognition. Marketing is strategic planning for there own planes. These both are going same way in business.

marketing is huger than branding but both  are important

Branding is the value and the image that sticks in the mind of the client. but marketing is the process to gain sales.

They differ. Branding is creating and promoting the visual identity, tone-of-voice of a product, service or company and marketing is promoting it through means of insight, research, advertising and PR. A simplistic answer but gives you the difference. Both branding and marketing do however marry beautifully and go hand in hand.
