Do you think making students choose the topic or genre helps while writing an assignment? How?

Allowing students the choice of topics or genre does help students write an assignment. It allows the students to pick a topic that interests them. This allows them to write a better paper on the topic. The topics they can choose from should be chosen by you the teacher. This way the topics you choose are relevant to the lesson you are teaching.
