3D scanning has become one of the world´s most popular ways of documenting archaeological sites and antiquities. As it is through the layers of a surface that you can understand and start to see what has been invisible to your eyes once. It is though the understanding of the three layers that integrate to formulate that surface that we can understand much more about how it was made, when it was made and how to protect it against the passing time.
