My best proverb is "Where there is a will there is a way" If we want to do something and try for that definitely there will be success.

In general, proverbs are important as they are part of the language as well as the culture of its native speakers.

Some do not suit your beliefs though. It's OK. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Some of my favorite proverbs are:

1-     "God helps those who help themselves."

2-   "Better late than never."

3-   "Actions speak louder than words."

4-   "Necessity is the mother of invention."

5-   "There's no such thing as a free lunch."

I like them because I think they are somehow positive and inspiring.

No, not at all. Proverbs are language and culture specific entities, therefore, it would be wrong to assume that only English proverbs are the best linguistic creations as regards meaning, message and brevity. Actually, this feeling should go that a particular language, like English or German or any human language for that matter, is better because it is "richer" in expression than the so-called "less-developed" languages (and the examples are given of some African languages without scripts). All human languages, and I assert that ALL HUMAN LANGUAGES are equally good and rich, none better or worse than the other. The point is, language is a medium of expression of out thoughts, and all human languages perform that function equally effectively. The same is the case with cultures: all cultures are rich in their own ways, none better than the other. It is colonialism (not just European colonialism, but colonial mentality within every society) that gave us the idea that cultures are comparable entities; they are not. Languages and Cultures have evolved for better survival of human race, and the proof of goodness of all cultures around us is that they have survived; the ones that haven't survived had some problems, either with them or around them, like the Mayan civilization and culture was destroyed by the American settlers. Anyway, there are numerous examples to argue for my point that I have no specific affinity towards any English proverb more than for an Arabic proverb or a Hausa  proverb or a Hindi proverb.
