when it comes to 2D drawing alone i prefer autocad rather than revit but in the case with modeling and 3D on time projection of the work revit is better. we can hav 2D as well as 3D depiction of the work at same time .

i have been working on autocad for about 3 yrs and also tried revit and came out with the conclusion that THERE IS NO OTHER POWERFUL DRAFTING TOOL other than AUTOCAD ....revit is nice but if it comes to drafting our own imagination accurately AUTOCAD  is the best tool....REVIT is something with which makes a newbee happy and nothing else...

Most of the experience people are preferring Autocad, I think they have lot of experience in Autocad. In future the those who are have full fledged knowledge and skill in Revit they opt Revit. Its a common, even before CAD there was hand sketches those times Autocad was also not preferred. This is My point of view. If there are any suggestions please let me know.

If you understand Revit and explored deeply then Revit is good option, otherwise AutoCad.
