An audit can be performed internally or by an external party or a team of people familiar with auditing. A company's safety performance audit is executed in a systematic and logical manner by reviewing documentation, work procedures, standard operating procedures, and more so, looking for compliance or non-compliance. In the event of non-complaince, corrective action(s) are made, and the company must adhere to these corrections in a timely manner following which the system or management system will be monitored to ensure it is effective and improved.
