Do you know any company who were decertified?
Sorry - that would depend. Nothing actually happens when you do not recertify - you just cannot 'bid or advertise' that your company is certified for that particular ISO - in some cases the stanadrd could also be a regulatory requirment to conduct your business, although these do not often build the core of an IMS. The issue will be - unless an external auditor assesses your MS - then you run the risk of deviating (unknowingly) from the core drivers of that particular ISO over the ensuing years.
If you don't get renewal of your certification, you will loose your certificate and you ll have to again go for new certification cycle i.e Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit.
First, of all you will lose your certificate, some of the consequences are:
1- Affecting your reputation in Market as this is not a very usual thing, you may lose some of your clients if they require ISO from vendors
2- you have to remove all the logos which indicate that you have ISO from all you communication (Email, Letters, website, Etc...), also the logos on company products if an
3- any failure to do step number 2, could reach to court if you mention that you are certified but you are really not. its really hard to perform step number 2 especially if you have products in market says that you have ISO, you need possibly to recall it all (check with certification body)
4- some of the certification bodies, do an announcement in newspaper to inform community that X company have lose its ISO certificate due to Non compliance with standard as legal action. (check with certification body)
5- while you said its an IMS, possibly, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, if the Major is related to Risk Assessment in OHSAS and ISO 14001, and all the elements of QMS ISO 9001 are fine, you may ask them to change the scope of certificate at least to maintain the minimum standard.
hope its help
Thanks

Well, this is not very usual, most of the time this happened when the company does nothing for ISO certification and it ended. Well, many consequences can be happened, you can loose your valuable clients, their trust, your goodwill in market, etc.
Initially Certification body or quality consultant will inform us. further there we cannot put adds in the market using the the certificate. loss in sales.
Its continual improvent will be detoriate and there may be negligence encurrage violation of laws probably in absence of cerfication authority who helps to metigate it.
It will compromise the credibility of the company.
1. First of all a responsible organization will renew its certification before its end date.
2. Any responsible internal auditor will make sure that immediate corrective actions are taken in case of a major non-conformity.
3. But in case IMS is not renewed then a reassessment of the quality managment system is required and an audit should be conducted to reassess the fullfillment of all the necessary standards.
The certification body issues a NC and asks for CAPA.
Reaudit is done for certification
Be invalid
