In destructive testing tests are carried out  to the point of specimens failure, in order to understand the specimens performance or material behavior under different loads.

Advantage of destructive testing is accuracy of results. For example you will know exactly at what load a specimen failed.

The Destructive testing it depends on the requirement, meaning if the specimen will be installed in a critical system. They require it to satisfy the strength of the material which will be installed in the system. It happens when there is new system to installed inside the plant for the first time and the system is critical part, some experts requires a destructive test.

Destructive testing defines any test that requires the specimen failure. For example, the concrete compressive test and the core test.

Destructive testing may has the disadvantage of specimen failure but on the other hand it has the advantage of accurate results and real values for the property of the test.

It is a type of testing where the metal or a component is tested which is totally damaged and cannot further used.

Benefits:

1) Properties of Materials

2) Quality of welds

3) To reduce stress failure , accidents & costs.

Destructive testing, in an IT context, is a software assessment method used to find points of failure in a program. Essentially, the method involves interacting with the software incorrectly, for example entering data that is corrupt or in the wrong format, to determine whether the application would fail were an end user to make that error.

Destructive testing are the tests which are carried out to the specimens failure.

Benefits:

Verifies properties of a material

Determines quality of welds

Helps you to reduce failures, accidents and costs

Ensures compliance with regulations

destructive like bend test, toughness test, fracture test, during these types of testing we try to know how strength or pressure will be adopt as a certerin load.

It is use to find out the material is it has the conformity with it Mill certificate as per requested by classification statuory. Or, in some scenario to reverse engineering on finding the relevant / similar material for replacing / renewing a component.

Distructive testing are carried out to the its sample failure.

by this testing we get the result of Material Quality. and we will be reach at the result of it's application for it is Useable or it need any other metturlurgycal treatment.
