Retaining a positive and motivated staff is vital to an organization's success. Employees are what’s known as an “appreciating asset”, meaning that they appreciate in value over time. The longer someone stays at a company, the more productive and valuable they are.
If employees are not retain the consider the costs of losing an employee:
· Costs of hiring (posting a job and conducting interviews)
· Costs of onboarding (time spent by manager training)
· Learning curve (a new employee will take months before they’re as good as the old employee)
· Emotional costs (lower productivity from the rest of the team)

I think employer working on customer retention but they are not giving that much importance to employee retention. What i think is that customer retention has direct relation with employee happiness, the more the employee is happy the more the customer will be retain cuz he love to do work he love to be sincere.So companies should make their employees happy by extrinsic and intrinsic awards.
But If you are retaining employees and not training the new ones wont it become a bottleneck for future development of the organization as human capital is the most crucial resource, as much as retention is required new entrants too are the lifeblood.
